RULES FOR USE OF CORPORATION FACILITIES
The Pool Manager has full charge of Corporation Facilities and is responsible for supervision of the staff in all phases of pool operation. They are empowered to make decisions concerning proper enforcement of the rules. They shall caution violators and, if necessary, suspend the pool privileges of persons willfully violating the rules. Such suspensions shall be for periods not to exceed the remainder of the day in which the infraction has occurred. Suspension of privileges for more than one day but up to a week may be made by the Manger with notice to the board of directors. Suspensions for longer than a week shall be made in accordance with the By-Laws. Any suggestion or complaint concerning the rules of their enforcement shall be made to the Pool Manager.
For purposes of the following rules, the pool enclosure is defined as the area within the fence. It includes walkway, picnic area, main pool and wading pool. The bathhouse is not considered to be within the pool enclosure.
HOURS OF OPERATION
- The hours of normal operation will be posted on the bulletin board.
- The pool may be reserved only for authorized special events.
REGISTRATION
- Each member will individually sign the general register and list their share number before entering the bathhouse.
- It will be the member’s responsibility to re-register if they have left the corporate facilities after their initial registration on any given day.
GUESTS
- Members may bring guests into the pool upon payment of appropriate guest fees. A guest must be accompanied by a member of the shareholder’s family and the shareholder will assume full responsibility for the guest’s activities by their signature on the guest register.
- A special weekly or monthly pass may be obtained at the pool desk for bona fide house guests in a member’s home upon payment of the fee (no refunds – passes must be picked up in advance) with manager’s approval.
- No refunds will be made for any guest fee collected in the event of pool closing for any reason.
- No family shall be permitted to bring in more than 8 guests at any time without prior approval of the Pool Manager.
- Members who have not reached their 18th birthday, and are bringing a guest, must have a signed note of consent from an adult shareholder in their home introducing the guest.
- The Pool Manager may limit, at his discretion, the total number of pool guests when crowded conditions require it.
- Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
- Once a shareholder has authorized the visit of a guest 18 years of age or over, the shareholder by their signature at the front desk, accepting full responsibility for the guest’s activities, may permit the guest to use the pool’s facilities unaccompanied for the remainder of the day.
HEALTH
- No food or beverages are permitted in the pool enclosure except in designated areas.
- Street shoes are not permitted on the pool decks or on the grass areas adjacent to the pool.
- Only appropriate swim wear will be allowed in the pool. White tee shirts may be worn over bathing suits for sun protections. No jeans, cutoffs, or gym shorts will be worn. The interpretation of “appropriate” will be up to the manager.
- No member shall knowingly enter the pool enclosure, or permit a child or guest to do so, while wearing bandages or suffering from an infection or communicable disease.
- Smoking with in the pool enclosure is permitted only in the designated smoking area by the north gate.
- There will be no smoking in the bathhouse.
- Spitting, spouting of water, etc. are prohibited.
- No chewing of gum is allowed in the pool enclosure.
- Children in diapers are not allowed in the main pool by County regulation, and must wear waterproof pants over either regular or disposable diapers while in the wading pool.
SAFETY
- No one is permitted to enter the pool enclosure unless a lifeguard is on duty. In the case of the swim team, a coach must be in attendance.
- No running, pushing, wrestling, or causing undue disturbance within the pool enclosure or bathhouse is permitted.
- No glass containers of any kind are allowed in the pool enclosure, picnic area, or bathhouse.
- No chairs, tables, strollers, radios, or other equipment are permitted in the pool aprons. These items are allowed only in the grass areas. No radios are allowed in pool area. Parents must continually watch their children.
- All parents are cautioned not to allow over-fatigue. The Manager and lifeguards may request a rest period if fatigue or chill is observed. An adult swim may be called for 15 minutes each hour.
- Rules having specific application to children:
- Parents must at all times provide for the supervision of any child less than 8 years of age. Parents may supervise the child themselves, they may have the child accompanied by an adult (18+), or with a written note of permission, the child may be accompanied by a sibling 15 years or older or a baby sitter 16 years or older.
- Children who have passed their 8th birthday but have not reached their 13th birthday may enter the pool alone provided the following requirements are met:
- They have passed the basic swimming test, AND
- They have sewn on their swim suits the patch showing they have passed the test, AND
- The parents or guardians have signed the authorization on the back of the Rolodex card for them to enter the pool unaccompanied.
DIVING
- All diving shall be executed in a safe manner, using one bounce and diving straight ahead.
- There will be only one diver/person allowed on the diving board at a time, except when accompanied by an instructor, for instructional purposes.
- The diving well may be entered from the diving board only unless guards approve otherwise.
- Divers will clear the diving area and leave the diving well as soon as possible after diving, by the nearest ladder.
- Diving is not permitted until the previous diver has reached the ladder, except during lessons.
- There will be no horseplay on the diving boards.
- Footgear, except for properly-fitted aqua-sox, goggles, floats, masks, etc., may not be worn when diving.
- No objects may be retrieved from the bottom of the diving well except by guards.
- The diving boards may be closed by the Pool Manager when pool crowding so indicates.
- Any injury occurring on Corporation property shall be reported to the Pool manager. The Pool Manager shall give a written report of all such incidents to the Operations Committee.
GENERAL RULES
- There shall be no loitering in the swimming lane nor hanging onto the sides of the pool at the ends of the lane. Persons within the lane must continue to be actively engaged in swimming.
- No person shall push or shove any other person under or into the water unless the activity is part of the supervised water sports program.
- Members and guests shall not loiter in the vicinity of the guards, or distract the guards.
- Vehicles shall be driven SLOWLY and CAREFULLY on driveways and parking areas.
- Bicycles will be parked at the bicycle rack and riders will exercise caution on Corporation property.
- Abusive, offensive, or profane language will not be permitted. Misconduct will be grounds for expulsion from the premises.
- No pets shall be allowed in the bathhouse or pool enclosure.
- There shall be no horn blowing, or other unnecessary noise on Corporation property.
- The office telephone is for Corporation business. A second line is available for personal calls of the general membership on payment of a fee to be determined by the board. The length of calls may be limited at the discretion of the desk personnel.
- No one but the Manager, pool staff, and board of directors is permitted in the guard room unless there is an emergency.
- Patrons must EXIT THE POOL and CLEAR THE DECK when THUNDER is heard.
- Patrons must EXIT THE POOL, CLEAR THE DECK, and be INSIDE the bathhouse when LIGHTNING is spotted.
- ALL children (17-) must exit the pool during adult swim. (only children 3- may be in the pool accompanied by an adult)
- Children must be attended in the baby pool fenced area at ALL times.
- Foreign objects that enter the pool from birds or humans are grounds for clearing the pool (urine, feces, or vomit).
- NO “dead man’s float”!
